Precious McKenzie has a PhD in British Literature from the University of South Florida, a Master’s of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Writing from Spalding University. She has published academic articles and books as well as short stories and poems. Her most recent writing for adults appeared in Whitefish Review, FeverDream, and Zenith Literary Magazine.
She has taught a range of college courses, from Business Writing, Professional Writing, Expository Writing, Writing for Children & Young Adults, Fiction: Writing Novels (graduate level), Literary Criticism, British Romantic Literature, Travel Writing, Literature & The Environment, British Literature 800-1800, Milton, British Literature 1800-Present, Contemporary World Fiction, History of English & Grammar, American Literature, Contemporary Women Writers, and Introduction to Literature.
In the spring of 2022, Precious had the honor of being awarded a Fulbright Scholars Award from the US Department of State. For the Fulbright, Precious spent the semester at University College-Cork, Ireland, teaching graduate students about the Public Humanities.
